Ways to Support Clean Air For Everyone Iowa - Citizens' Action Network
1.
Become a C.A.F.E.
2.
Host a membership drive.
This is a great way to educate the public about the issue, find
supporters and host an event to increase membership and educate your
community.
3.
Contact your local
legislators. Tell them that someday you would like to
see full funding for tobacco control. In these financial times, you hope
they will not make disportionate cuts to the tobacco division because
there is still lots of work to so.
Every Iowans who needs it should have access to tobacco cessation
and we can’t stop funding youth prevention. This can be done by meeting
in person, making a phone call, or writing a letter or e-mail. Contact
information for your senator and legislator can be found at
http://www.legis.state.ia.us/find-leg/.
4.
Write a
letter to the editor
of your local newspaper. Express your support for
providing funding for tobacco control and cessation services. Encourage
others to write letters to the editor.
5.
Attend local legislative
gatherings. Most legislators hold forums, breakfasts,
etc. in their local communities monthly during the legislative session.
Attend a legislative forum and ask your representatives if they support
maintaining funding for tobacco control and cessation services.
7.
Attend a lobby day.
Help us reach our goal by asking your
family, friends, and co-workers to join.
