Seven Ways to Support Clean Air For Everyone Iowa - Citizens' Action Network

1. Become a C.A.F.E. Iowa CAN member. Ask your family and friends to join you.

2. Host a membership drive. This is a great way to educate the public about the issue, find supporters and fundraise for your local coalition. Membership drive information is available by contacting your local C.A.F.E. coalition.

3. Contact your local legislators. Let them know you would like to see local tobacco control restored to Iowa communities. This can be done by meeting in person, making a phone call, or writing a letter or e-mail. Contact information for your senator and legislator can be found at http://www4.legis.state.ia.us/find-leg/.

4. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.  Express your support for restoring local tobacco control to Iowa communities. Encourage others to write letters to the editor.

5. Circulate petitions. Download the petition now and send completed petitions to the address at the bottom of the petition. For more information or help in conducting a petition drive in your community contact C.A.F.E. Iowa CAN at 319-338-2366.

6. Attend local legislative gatherings. More legislators hold forums, breakfasts, etc. in their local communities. Ask your representatives if they support restoring local control to communities for smoke-free environments.

7. Ask other organizations to join C.A.F.E. Iowa CAN's effort by writing a letter of support. These are being collected and presented to local legislators.

A membership drive packet can be obtained by calling 319-338-2366. Help us reach our goal by asking your family, friends, and co-workers to join.
